Lost in OZ.

I call it Oz but I don't mean Australia (sorry Trent). I do however mean down under in the wonderlands of Pisgah, the Black Mountains and the backcountry near the land of the Scotts (Franklin NC).

My site is back online after a brief hiatus. Hey, websites need rest too. To sum up the last week, Erin and I have been on a long journey that turned into quite an adventure. Don't get me wrong I like to be spontaneous, but it is good to know where you are sleeping at night. We had a great time on our trip, I raced from Spartanburg, SC to the top of Mt. Mitchell, the highest point in the East. The new course was mean. It featured 1000 more feet of climbing and an extra 10 miles bring the total to 117 miles. The cold rain at the 6:30 am start brought it into hors categorie on the Epic scale.

I have never been so tired as I was that night. I felt the same as I did after the 24 Hours of Moab.

Erin and I also got in some great riding at Pisgah National Forest and at Dupont State forest. Sunday we spent with my Mom at Cherokee NC visiting the museums and looking for gem stones at a local tourist attraction mine called Gold City. We found several Rubys and a few Emeralds!

Not bad for a 5 day weekend.

Back to work as they say. Hunter is killing me, I guess thats what it takes.

I wonder what Nick is doing?

Hey Jeremiah,
Thanks for making an effort to come out and play with the average riding folk in the Pisgah area. It's good to see some seasoned vet making an appearence at the local events. I was at both The Pisgah Adventure and Mitchell too. If you remember during Mitchell being ran off the road at the begining of the parkway - Nice save by the way. That was me (Toby) - I apoligize I didn't hear you. But anyway good job on your results and hopefully you'll come back.

Later, Toby P.
