A Busy Day of Spectating!
There was an unusual flurry of racing action today with our team doing some solid race winning! From the World Mtn Bike Championships in Italy, the Vuelta, 24 hrs of Adrenalin and the Shenandoah 100.... OH, and the San Fran Grand Prix, geez! There was some serious racing. Unusually, I wasn't part of any of it but I managed to enjoy it. I spent a good part of the day on the internet and on the phone to get the dirt... Get it the dirt? Puns aside, I think I knew a few people in each one of those races except the Vuelta. Maybe even...
So Congrats to Chris Eatough and Todd Helmick on today's wins. Chris won another hard fought 24-hour battle where the elements turned against the racers with cold driving rain just before dawn. And Todd captured his first Shenandoah 100 Miler win! Awesome..
Oh, as I was saying, I spent some of the afternoon spectating and helping my buddy Chris Scott, though it was amusing to see the looks on peoples faces as I volunteered last night and today at aid station #6, "Hey why aren't you racing" was the question. That sucked, but I did have fun to see everybody pushing it and really enjoying the day.
Later, JB
