Where's Andy??

Huge week of riding and camaraderie wrapped up today with the Daily Grind coffee Shop ride. Jeff Shalk was in town for the fist few days but had to under go top secret training tests at the NIH so he missed the grand finally.

Sick climb today and nice way to completely empty the tank so the rest days seem right.

Here is how the riders saw it...

Andy: "The day started off with high expectations. JB planned on throwing down hard, he's a man of his word. The first few hours were a brisk pace in the foothills of the valley, pot-marked with sign sprints to separate the men from the boys. We then proceeded to get lost near Basye and found some sweet climbs and gravel roads before hitting the Hors Category of the day. Big, huge, massive climb on slippery dirt and gravel over Great North Mountain and Sugar Knob marked with accelerations and attacks. I could safely say it was the hardest climb I've ever hit. After a gnarly decent and regroup the ride began to head home. Todd had an important date which he had to meet so paceline was the order of the day. Smooth like butter our group drilled it home, Todd and I breaking away at the end to take 1 and 2 for the most important and welcoming sign of the day; "Welcome to Harrisonburg." 'til Next time, Happy Mile

Nick: "Up, down, all around - sun up to sun down. The '07 crew has descended upon Harrisonburg for some '07 prep and the last couple weeks have proven worthy of comparing to last year's training energy. Forward momentum is what it's all about. Simple. On your mark, get set, go!"

Good Stuff.. Thanks to Justin time, Todd XXX, Andy and Nick for making it a memorable weekend.

Surely a sign of more to come.

90 miles 5600 ft of climbing and nasty steep, 12 % for the 45 min climb on dirt and gravel.

Most roadies would ring my neck for bringing them there but these guys are tough.
