Tech

I had a lot of fun at the Cannondale international sales meeting and learned more about the incredible plans that Cannondale has for the next year. You'll just have to stay tuned to find out more!

Here's a look at the worlds fasted townie! Now I just need some PBR stickers! There were so many cool bikes for 2010, but you will have to wait untill the cat comes out of the bag!

I had a fantastic time meeting all of the dealers and sharing the excitement about the new product line with the hard working team from Cannondale. And we all had a great time on the trails! I think everyone enjoyed the Raw Revolution bars and new EMV that I snuck into the show.

Before heading out of Park City, I stopped by White Pine Touring to load up on some last minute supplies for the Breck Epic and Marathon Nationals. Talk about an awesome touring shop! (More photos are up in the Gallery.)

Check out Dave's preview of the race ahead...

It's going to be a busy week as I get ready for the most exciting part of the year... summer time racing!

EMV Product Launch!

The MonaVie Cannondale Team was honored to present MonaVie's newest product EMV. Lasers, fireworks and 3,500 people filled the Salt Palace Convention Center. It was simulcasted in 12 different languages around the World!

The dude on the right likes doing 720's off cliffs, I just like riding for 7 hours twenty. Ha ha ha. Both are dangerous over the top and fun. With EMV's special product mantra "healthy sustained energy" I think we have the makings of a long lasting relationship because we live the healthy lifestyle and don't need the preservatives and chemicals of other drinks and most importantly epic racing requires staying power!

Father's Day was also our team photo shoot. Conrad is scoping out some sponsors so we had him join in on the shoot! What a ham!

Erin, the little guy and I are having a fun rocky mountain adventure. (More pics from the photo shoot and convention are up in the Gallery! And, if you like the new stars and stripes jersey and bibs, you can get them too.)

Well keep ya posted on what is next!

Memorial Day Stars and Stripes

I've got some awesome stars and stripes for you to check out this Memorial Day weekend... on my new custom Scalpel!

It's got anodized brake bosses, rocker link and Lefty. The details take it from a cool paint job to a totally cool, one-off bike. Thanks to all the great people at Cannondale, Scrub, NoTubes.com, Kenda, WheelBuilder.com, Crank Brothers and PowerTap for making this happen... it's FAST!

Here's a video look at the bike, and more photos are posted in the gallery.

There are tons of great cycling events this weekend. See you on the trails!

Our Team Needs Your Ideas

Jeremiah's friends and long-time sponsors at JBL are always working hard to develop new product lines, and right now they've got more than a few exciting things up their sleeves. What's best is these latest projects are being designed specifically for cycling!

And here is where we really need your help. JBL is truly dedicated, both as Jeremiah's sponsor and to the cycling community, and it's our turn to repay them with our expertise as cyclists. By Friday, Nov. 7, we need to round up as many cyclists as possible to share your feedback with the JBL product design and development team. Our goal is 1,000 respondents, and with your help we can totally reach that mark.

Please take a few minutes to complete the feedback questionnaire found here, share it with fellow cyclists, and help make this program all it can be. (Instructions for submitting the questionnaire are on page 2.) It's opportunities like this one that validate our continuing partnerships with our sponsors.

As an incentive, there will be a drawing for three JBL On Stage III iPod/iPhone docking stations from participating respondents. This product sells for $169.95 and is of awesome quality - we love ours!

These newest JBL products are going to blow you away!

Thanks in advance for sharing your feedback with a sponsor that has given Jeremiah the support he's needed to pursue his dream and achieve his greatest accomplishments.

New for '08

It's me, Erin, stopping by JB's blog again. You might have noticed the new photo gallery. If you've yet to explore this, click on the Gallery link to the left. There should be some new albums added today, and frequently throughout the year. Also, be sure to check out the Sponsors page, it's been updated with links to some of the great companies and organizations that have teamed up with Jeremiah for 2008.

In the coming weeks, there will be great new features coming to JeremiahBishop.com, including an awesome promotion with long-time team sponsor JBL. It's going to be so cool, I'm having a hard time not spilling the beans right now. (In the meantime, JBL has a special portal where cycling fans can access discounts on products. This helped me out when I was doing my Christmas shopping. Now, instead of blasting his iPod headphones while riding on the trainer, Jeremiah can pump out great tunes courtesy of a new JBL Radial.)

Lately, there's been a lot of excitement in Harrisonburg. We've hosted family and friends, including some of Jeremiah's favorite training pals. Our local crew enjoyed celebrating at the annual solstice party. If you're talented at Boolean searches, you might find some photos online. Christmas and New Year's Eve were both enjoyable holidays for us, and hopefully for you, too.

Now, it's time to make plans for the year ahead. The coldest days of winter are about to move into the 'Burg and I see a trip to Clemson in my near future.

It seems like most people have a few little tricks to staying warm, or at least fooling themselves out the door on the coldest days. Other than the usual warm winter wear, I treat myself to those tiny foot warmers and mix my Cytomax with warm water. Sometimes, Jeremiah will use Climitts over his handle bars. Do you have any special tricks? Do tell!

Rent's Due

I'm actually talking about paying the planet.

You might think I'm crazy or that I've spent too much of my time listening to the song Beds are Burning from Midnight Oil.

The time has come
To say 'fair's fair'
To pay the rent
To pay our share
The time has come
A fact's a fact
It belongs to them
Let's give it back

For now, I'm talking carbon emissions. All of us can reduce our emissions by driving less and biking more. Sounds good to me! But, what about the miles that we can't seem to avoid driving? You've probably heard about carbon off-setting.

I admit that I was skeptical about the latest crop of carbon-offsetting programs, until I did some research and learned more about the process. For example, did you know it could take as few as four trees to offset one TON of carbon?

One of my sponsors - Volkswagen - has partnered with CarbonFund.org Foundation to offset one year's carbon emissions for all new Volkswagen purchases made in the US, now through January 2. This Volkswagen Carbon Neutral Project has also made it easy for current VW drivers (like me) to calculate and offset their yearly emissions.

Contributions to CarbonFund.org support carbon-reducing programs focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency and re-forestation. Contributions specifically made to the Volkswagen Carbon Neutral Project will fund the re-forestation of 1,100 acres of the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley, a.k.a. the "VW Forest." Strategically planted in this fertile valley, the VW Forest will grow quickly and benefit from a long growing season each year. That's cool, eh?

I joined the Volkswagen Carbon Neutral Project with a donation of $59.24. This offset the 25,000 miles Erin and I have driven in the VW Jetta and 6,000 (slightly faster) miles driven in my new Trek/VW GTI.

Even if your auto isn't a VW, you can participate. It's a cool thing to do. It takes just a little time and is inexpensive compared to the price we'll have to pay if we wait until later.

Get out there and do some good. Once you start, it's surprisingly easy.
Now, does anyone know where I can find a bicycle powered lawn mower?

Ciao,

JB
