Guilty of Blog Neglect

It really is pathetic that I haven't managed to update my blog since March.

I actually attempted numerous times while traveling. At Sea Otter the hotel wireless became less than reliable and I focused my attention on uploading photos and trying to keep the momentum from the event rolling onto the main pages of the site. Blogging fell by the wayside.

During the Tour of Shenandoah I tried to keep racing fans updated about the development of our composite team and share photos from the stages all while juggling the needs of 5 racers, 1 mechanic, 2 cars, and myself after all that. Then, after stage 4 from The Homestead to Lexington, we were met with a blessing in disguise. The team's hotels reservations had not been confirmed and we found ourselves without a place to stay, in Lexington that is. The mishap gave us the opportunity to return to Harrisonburg for a much needed recharge. Less and I took advantage of the home turf, he by meticulously cleaning and repairing all of the bikes, I by removing everything from the eurovan and giving our team a fresh start and re-organization. Less' wife, Jodi, added a fresh smiling face to our weary group. She made her soon-to-be-world-famous vegitarian lasanga, fresh baked bread with home-grown garlic, and a heavenly salad picked from her garden. It is hard for me to capture the feeling of sitting down for dinner that evening. Exhaustion from days in the cold rain had worn at us all. We had shared the stress of of racing, traveling, organzing, and strategizing and to sit down around a dinning room table made the whole bunch feel like a family of sorts. I wrote about how good that evening felt, but it was lost to a blogger malfunction.

There is more on the way.
