Hatteras and Loving It
In the spirit of vacation, I am going to keep this blog short. The best weather in America is happening here, one an island 40 miles off of the coast of North Carolina, where life couldn't be better! The sun has been shining, the fish biting and the phone doesn't ring...
Till I feel like blogging again,

Golf Pro?
Definitely not, but I am having a great time at my lessons!
You might be wondering "why in the world is Erin taking golfing lessons?" The honest truth is that I am insanely stubborn and getting better at golf, at a game that I played just twice before, had plagued my thoughts since "Chick Week" at the beach. Amazing.
So, with our family's summer vacation quickly approaching and the immanent rematch awaiting, I signed up for private lessons at the local golf course; no group stuff where prodigious pre-teens could make a fool of me. After one session with Zandy, I decided that practice would only improve my chances at success.
"Golf doesn't count as exercise," Jeremiah yelled as I headed off for my first solo attempt at the driving range. I had a good time. I even improved upon what I had learned the day before; the balls went where I aimed them and my distance increased.
"You are going to get out of it, what you put into it," I remembered my instructor saying. Two days later, I returned for some more practice.
Its not that I am hooked on the game of golf, I still don't know if I actually enjoy it or if my bizarre patience is allowing my even more bizarre stubbornness free reign. Regardless, in the past 8 days I have had two lessons and four practices. I now have a set of clubs, a sweet putter and a cute bag to put them all in.
I will probably shake this after the beach trip. By then the weather will be cooling and the air will be dry; Fall is my favorite time of year for mountain biking fun. The college students will return to town. Cross season will begin. Fridays will be filled with Six-Pack Downhill adventures and Saturdays with trail maintenance and fatty rides. Squeeze in a wedding and all that fun...
This golfing thing is a nice diversion from the norm in the meantime.
