Fun Stuff

This wll be a random update for you who have found your way back to my blog.

It's Wednesday afternoon and I am sitting under the maple tree in our back yard, blogiging and listening to Tribe Called Quest. This afternoon I re-discovered the option of working outside. And, work I have! Seriously.

I don't know why we repeatedly overlook the capability of taking our computers outside the house. I think the wireless signal goes 500 feet. When someone can show me some scientific proof that those little EMF blocker medalians work, then I'll think about getting one 'cause I know I'm being bombarded by all kinds of signals. But, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?

In more exciting news, the North and Bishop families are looking forward to a 2-day adventure along the Greenbriar River Trail. Thanks to Thomas and his Burley trailer, even mom's dog, Shady, is going to enjoy the ride. The dog is hooked on biking actually. Last weekend I zipped him into my jacket and we went for a fast downhill run. He was smiling - photos to come.

I think Todd is in town for the day. He knows how to pick some nice weather. Jeremiah is taking him out on some sick ride in the GW. I see The Little Grill in my near future.

We didn't make it out to the showing of Roam last night. Someone tell me how it went!

Trail Work Thursday - see you there!

Freedom

Work got you down? I've decided to see what happens when you retire at age 25. So far the results are as follows: I've ridden bikes every day, entered 2 races in as many weekends, organized and cleaned almost the entire house, added several varieties to "the green wall" in the backyard, re-potted all my neglected house plants, prepared some really tasty home cookin' dinners, introduced a system to the embarassing corner we've been calling our home office, dabbled in some part-time work, raced my first Alley Cat scavenger hunt and - look at me - now I'm blogging!

I keep telling Jeremiah to think of exciting adventures, like where can we go this winter when the icy weather hits the Virginia mountains. With no job tying me to Harrisonburg, the possibilities are endless. But, Jeremiah keeps forgetting that, and every time I come up with a new warm weather locale and tell him we can go there for the entire month of say, January, he responds with excited amazement, 'Oh my gosh! You don't have a job! We can go ANYWHERE!"
It's turned into a fun game.

But seriously, retirement at 25 is sweet.

Now, all we need is to upgrade the Jetta to a wagon, or better yet a Touareg, and we can pack up our things and head out on a quest for the sweetest singletrack!

Living the dream,
Erin
