Zombie Momma
Just one month into the world of motherhood and things are starting to settle into a predictable routine. To fully embrace this concept, you have to accept the idea that predictions may vary and that routine does not imply scheduled. But, a predictable routine is 100% better than what I would have expected at this stage in the game. I'm having such a good time getting to know my new little one, as he gets to know the world!
Conrad has fully known the difference between day and night for a few weeks. Recently he dropped one of his night-time snacks from our predictable routine, and now I'm getting a full night's sleep divided by one early morning wake-up call... not bad! I've found that my feeling of restfulness is entirely dependent on just when during my sleep cycle I'm awoken by his hunger pangs. Some nights I'll get plenty of sleep, but feel like a zombie. And zombies do some crazy things during the daytime... like take the trash out to the curb a day late and wonder why no one else has readied their rubbish for removal. Oops!
I'm ready to get back out on the mountain bike trails, now all I need is a new Scalpel to match Jeremiah's. Maybe if I ask nice...
