Bishop Adventures with Bike
Last fall, Bike editor Kip Mikler and photographer Chris Milliman journeyed to Jeremiah Bishop's hometown of Harrisonburg, Virginia for a taste of the rugged terrain and famed trails of western Virginia. Their adventurous account is featured in the September/October 2008 issue that is now available on newsstands.
Mikler's story complements the issue's theme "Why the East Coast Rocks," and will have readers ready to recreate his adventure as crisp autumn days return.
"Tucked into Appalachia, straddling the border between Virginia and West Virginia, is a rugged region that has played an important but largely unrecognized role in mountain biking. It is the birthplace of 24-hour racing, and is home to some of America’s best racers and thousands of devoted riders. We explore the region to discover what makes the towns, the people and the trails so exceptional."
